Travel Diaries – Intercontinental o2

Holidays are a MUST when you live in typical British weather 24/7 but when you want a break from life every couple of months, going abroad isn’t always the most effective or the cheapest- which is why i opt for long weekend city breaks every couple of months. Yes, hotel breaks can be just as expensive as a holiday these days but pick where you go carefully and when you’re planning on going and you can find you get some really great deals for luxury hotels that are right on your door step.

The Intercontinental o2 is by far my favourite find of 2016, situated literally over the top of the 02 stadium, the views you see out of any window especially out of the sky bar, are always breathtaking. I’ve been 3 times before and every time I’ve gone I’ve had a completely different experience being there; Ive been lucky enough to have amazing views every time I’ve gone and with usual room upgrades if you’re a member, i HIGHLY recommend a superior double room, high enough up to get an amazing view with any window you look out.

The hotel is very clean and i was extremely pleased with how stylish and modern the hotel decor was, as thats something i really look out of every time i travel somewhere new. The latest time i went was new years eve, in the lower floor bar there was a modern DJ which accompanied all the different groups of people that were drinking there for the evening. A previous visit was on a bank holiday weekend, thankfully it wasn’t as busy as i was expecting it to be which i loved. The pool is outstanding, with comfy lay out chairs, a large hot tub and multiple spar rooms, i spend most of the day in there every single visit.

I’ve never had anything to complain about every time I’m there and i can’t wait to go back soon and experience it all over again. fullsizeoutput_f9bimg_8965
